In Prduct you can create checks to ensure that specific attributes are verified or reviewed. Checks can be used across document types – for example products, batches, packaging, etc.

This is especially useful when multiple people are working with data, and you need to control what has been verified – and what still needs review.

How to create a Check?

  1. Go to "Data" in the menu.

  2. Select "Data Models".

  3. Scroll down to the section Checks (at the bottom of the page).

  4. Click "Create Attribute Check".

  5. When the popup opens, you need to fill in:

Field

Description

Name

Internal name – only used for internal identification of the check

Document type

Select which document type this check applies to (e.g. Product, Batch, Packaging etc.)

Attribute

Choose which attribute the check should be performed on

Label

The text that the user will see when performing the check (e.g. “Verify Common Name” or “Check that weight has no decimals”)

Tip: The Name is only used internally – the Label is what users will see.

How to work with Checks when created?

Once a check is created you can do the following:

  • In the list view for the document type (e.g. Product list), you can now filter on checks that are completed or not completed. You can filter on a specific Check if you have several.

  • On an individual document (e.g. a product), you can also see on the specific attribute whether the check has been completed or not.

Note: There must be data on the attribute before the check can be performed – and before you can filter on it.

What are Checks used for?

Checks allow you to:

  • quality assure data (you can do specific checks for attributes you send to your supplier for fulfillment).

  • keep track of verified attributes

  • work in a structured way when multiple people are creating and maintaining data

  • ensure that critical fields are reviewed before being used in further processes
